Written collaboratively with Juliet Jaeger. Ryan King hands off various duties to (at the time) band mate Juliet Jaeger. Taking over most all synth sounds, as well as shinning through while singing back up vocals for nearly all the tracks on "Poly." Most of the songs with Jaeger on vocals feel more like a duet than a backup singer. Both King and Jaeger's voices do sound well rehearsed and the material well written. "Poly" comes out swinging with a bodacious electronic dance jam equal to the opening to NIRVANA's classic nevermind and opening with "smells like teen spirit," with an electronic focus; You're Only Happy When You're High. A song about how once we find what we are looking for; we're still not happy. The lyrical content is razor sharp and cloaked in Bit crusher and reverb while maintaining an otherworldly natural vocal sound.throughout the 12 tracks on "Poly." As a local blog in Milwaukee had also pegged CRLSS (breaking and entering entertainment) on "Poly" being an intentional aim at a more accessible album by opening with "You're Only Happy When You're High." they were spot on and from the beginning CRLSS & Co had aimed towards a more accessible sound and material of which listeners could relate to. At Least more accessible than their previous two efforts: 2018's "HeartStrings" and 2019's "Heroin Swoon." both great sonic journeys into the darker realm of pop music, just not as wide open as "Poly" clearly strives to be.
